Why so much coverage on Michael Sam

Today there will be 750 men/players who will not have a job in the NFL. Each player has their own personal story but yet ESPN chooses to broadcast about Michael Sam 24/7. Michael Sam chances of making the NFL is the same as the other 750 players who may not have a job. On the hand if Michael Sam was drafted by another team, he could have more chances of making their team as oppose to the Rams. The Rams are stacked in the linebacker position which may lead to Sam being cut by the Rams.
The good news for Sam is, he may get a chance with other teams. But my issue with ESPN is to solely focus on Sam while ignoring the 750 players who are not getting any coverage. Michael Sam coverage could help land a job or a gig outside the NFL while a player who may not get the coverage might be slightly be better than Sam will get less coverage.
